If I bought a bag of mulch that is 2 cubic feet and spread it 6 in deep would that give me 4 square feet ? Sorry,I know this is a grade 3 math question but when it comes to math I'm as dumb as a box rocks.
BTW...I've asked other stupid math questions and you folks seem to be quite understanding. No one has ever said that I was a dummy.I can add, subtract and multiply ( with a calculator ) I can also figure gross and net sales %

Yes. 2 cubic feet at a depth of 6 inches (1/2 foot) would cover 4 square feet.

Yes, if your depth is 1/2 foot, then the area that it covers will be twice the 2 cubic feet volume.

If you spread it 4 inches thick (or 1/3 of a foot) it would cover 2 cubic feet x 3, or 6 square feet.

2 cubic feet is a measure of volume...

spread 6 inches deep (or 1/2 foot deep), the mulch would cover an area of 4 ft^2

the total volume of the covered area is: (1/2) * (4) = 2 ft^3

Yes, it would cover 4 square feet. Volume is length times width times depth.

At one foot deep, the area covered would be one foot wide by two feet long for two cubic feet. One foot wide by two feet long is 2 square feet.

At 1/2 foot deep, the area would be two feet wide by two feet long for an area of four square feet.
