Write a word problem that could be solved with a proportion. Then define your variable, write the proportion, solvethe proportion and answer the question.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Jimmy needs to paint a room. He uses 3.75 cans of paint. The room has 6 walls of equal area. How much paint does Jimmy use per wall?



3.75/6 = 0.625 cans of paint per wall.

(A ratio is a fraction)



I know it's not the best example ever but I hope this helps a little.
