3a² + 3a - 18 = ( 3a - 6 ) ( a + 3 )
To check :
( 3a x a ) + ( 3a x 3 ) + ( -6 x a ) + ( -6 x 3 )
= 3a² + 9a - 6a -18
= 3a² + 3a - 18
===============
TAKE NOTE :
You are not solving for "a", because this is NOT an equation !!!
You just want to factorize & simplify the expression ,,,

3 a^2 + 3 a - 18
= 3 [ a^2 + a - 6] [ - 6= 3 x -2 and 3- 2 =1 ]
= 3 [ a^2 + 3a - 2a - 6 ]
= 3 [ a( a+ 3 ) - 2 ( a+ 3 ) ]
= 3 ( a+ 3 ) (a-2 ) answer

3a^2+3a-18 = 3 (a^2 +a-6)
= 3 (a+3 ) (a - 2)

3a^2 + 3a - 18
First factor out the "3". This leaves you with:
3(a^2 + a - 6)
Next, factor out the quadratic:
a^2 + a - 6 = (a + 3)(a - 2)
Finally regroup using all three factors and set equal to zero:
3(a + 3) (a - 2) = 0
a = -3
a = 2

3 (a² + a - 6)
3 (a + 3)(a - 2)
