The y-intercept tells you the number that it starts at.

The slope tells you the amount it is increasing by each time.

The y-intercept tells me that, at 0, F is equal to 32. The slope tells me that F increases by 1.8 for every time c increases by 1.

slope is rise over run, so really it's telling you how many spaces up and over a coordinate is. Or the ratio of its vertical rise over its horizontal run. And your y-intercept other wise known as 'B' is The point when a graph of an equation crosses the y-axis.
