I am a chem person doing a reaction under pseudo-first-order conditions. (i.e loss of starting material versus time should look like an exponential decay).. BUT ...

I know one of the products of the reaction speeds up the consumption of starting material. What I observe is a linear decay (ie straight line) ..

I tried modelling autocatalysis but that only gives sigmoidal curves, i want to make an exponential decay look linear from start of reaction to end using autocatalysis :)

I know this may be confusing. But please somebody help :) You can also email me at ureymiller_at_yahoo_dot_com for further details.

Try to fit your data with Excel’s exponential fitting curves,

It will give you Coefficients which make the exponential looks like a line.

Or try the experiment more rapidly.
