for the eyes, and C for cow and H for hen

2 C + 2 H = 172

for the legs

4 C + 2 H = 344

subtract the eye expression from the leg expression

2C = 172

C = 86 cows

substitute this into the eyes expression

2(86) + 2 H = 172

H = 0

must be a cattle ranch, there are NO hens

172 eyes divided by 2 is equal to 86 animals

If all 86 are cows then 86 multiply by 4 is 344 legs;

There is no space for hen.!!

He has offered 4/5 of his goats , and 3/5 of his cows. this ability that the form of goats he had initially ought to be a dissimilar of 5. further for the form of cows. If we in simple terms flow interior the process the countless multiples 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30 , we can see that the only case the place the entire form of goats and cows offered equals 29 , is the place he offered 20 goats out of 25 , and 9 cows out of 15. consequently , he had 5 goats left , and six cows left. The ratio you're in seek of is 5 : 6.

2C + 2H = 172

C + H = 86

C = 86 - H

4C + 2H = 344

4(86 - H) + 2H = 344

344 - 4H+ 2H = 344

-2H = 0

H = 0

C = 86
