As I researched, sharp in English = acutus in Latin. Acute means sharp. But why is the acute angle called "sharp"?

angles can be acute, obtuce or right angle. Right angle is the reference for these names
meaning acute means sharp, and obtuse means blunt.
since for the angles less than 90degrees, the angle is sharper than right angle, they are called acute, if angle is greater than 90deg, the angle is blunter than right angle, they are called obtuse

Think of it in terms of a turn in a car. When you go around a bend, and are forced to turn more than 90 degrees, it is a generally used phrase that you went around a "sharp" curve.
