It just means draw a rectangle (what we usually think of as a "rectangle").

The reason why it's confusing is that all squares are rectangles. A rectangle is a four-sided, closed figure with four right angles. A square is a rectangle (a four-sided, closed figure with four right angles), where all the sides are the same length. So all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares (since the rectangles don't have to have equal length sides - just four right angles).

So draw a rectangle, don't draw a square. That's all it's saying.

Addendum: After reading a couple of other "answers", please note that the key to making a rectangle is having four right angles. The length of the sides do not matter. All squares are rectangles. A couple of the other definitions which talk about length of sides could refer to parallelograms or trapezoids respectively - neither of which are rectangles. Four right angles (in a closed figure) make a rectangle. But don't draw a square.

A rectangle has almost the same properties as a square but is different in many ways.

To draw a rectangle, draw 4 sides, the left and right side should have an equal value (such as 4,) while the top and bottom have an equal value but larger (such as 8.) That is what a rectangle is.

Hope this helps.

All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. A rectangle is a four sided polygon. A four sided shape. A square is a four sided polygon (shape) in which all the sides are the same length. So you make two sides on the end short and the ones on the top and bottom longer. A square has four equal sides.

A rectangle has two sides equal like top and bottom, then the other two sides are equal to each other but different length from the other two.

look at your space bar, draw the shape of that
