I'm in Grade 11 university math, and I tried to switch to college but it was too late, so now I'm stuck :s
- I do my homework every single day!
- I ask for all the questions I need help on
- I kinda look over my math equations the day before the test
- I volunteer to help others with math too

all this, and I got a 24% on my first test
how can I improve this! I really need to pass this course but everything I write a math test I feel as though I can't think because we have learned so much and its all jumbled in my head, and I don't know what to do for what question!

If one is bad at math with she always be bad at math :s?

Math is a skill. You can get better with practice, just as with any other skill.

Remember when you study math, you can't learn it just by sitting and staring at the page, You have to have a pencil and a piece of paper and work out the problems as they explain them in the book.

There must be a reason why you failed your test. Look over your answers and categorize your mistakes into 2 groups:

- Careless mistakes

- Genuine 'I didn't know how to do this' mistakes

The results of your sorting will basically point you in the direction of whether you a) get too nervous in a test hence make heaps of silly mistakes, or b) really need to brush up on your math.

If b), try getting math tuitioning. And try doing past year papers, they help. Also, make topic summaries, so compile all the 'rules' or equations or whatever from a particular topic into a book so it makes for easy revision later on when you're doing big scale revision. Good luck.

"grade eleven math" isnt particular adequate. is it algebra? trigonometry? calculus? pre-calc? you may desire to tricky greater. Ratios are undemanding a million:2 = 2:4 the form a million is with regard to the form 2; it is 0.5 of it. the form 2 is with regard to the form 4; it is 0.5 of it. 'ratio' is the relationship. the ratio of a million:2 is the comparable as 2:4. right it relatively is a pragmatic occasion: 3:4 = x:a hundred you may desire to apply ratios to locate the respond. when you consider that the two equations are equivalent, exchange the ratios into fractions and go multiply: 3/4 = x/a hundred *go multiply* 4x = 3 hundred (word: in case you dont understand what go multiplying is, its once you're taking an equation that contain 2 fractions, and you multiply the proper numbers via the opposing backside numbers. so in this one, you multiply 3 via a hundred, and x via 4. in case you have been to allure to strains connecting the numbers being prolonged, it would variety an X or go) now all you do is resolve for x: x = seventy 5 i'm hoping this helps. ratios are extremely undemanding, i think of your getting to grasp incapacity might desire to be important in case you have project with them.

practice practice practice practice. its cliche, but its true. the more you see complicated problems, the more they will start to look like 2+2. Keep doing your homework, and try to find more example problems too
