"pound" and "lb" are singular. "pounds" and "lbs" are plural.
Singular means one. Plural means more than one.
"lbs" means "pounds".
"lb" means "pound".
1 kg is not 2.2 "pound"; it is 2.2 "pounds".
The only written difference is the "s". If you have more than one, you add "s".
Examples:
I weigh 10 pounds.
You weigh 1 pound.
Note: We also use "pounds" if we have zero ( 0 ).
Example: I have 0 pounds of food.
May God bless you.

Torque is the amount of force needed to turn or twist something. ft-lbs and in-lbs are units of measure for torque. Yes, 12 in-lbs equals 1 ft-lb. in-lbs are usually used for smaller bolts and ft-lbs for larger bolts. Different torque wrenches are used to measure in-lbs and ft-lbs, as they must be precise.

Your math is a little off, but not much. To convert from kilograms to pounds you would multiply the kilos by 2.20. So 110 x 2.20= 242 lbs. The man on TV could be shorter than you are, it would make him appear heavier, even if he weighs less or the same as you do.

"lbs" is the commonly-used but incorrect way of abbreviating the plural form of lb (pound). "lb" is the abbreviation of the Latin word libra, which is both the singular and plural word for pound (the original Latin words were 'libra pondo' meaning 'pound weight'). In proper usage, you should write 2.2 lb, never 2.2 lbs. However, it is common, but incorrect, to find "lbs" written as a plural form of lb in both scientific and non-scientific writing.

"lb" is correct, while "lbs" is not.
The abbreviation "lb" comes from the Latin "libra", which is itself short for "libra pondo", or "pound weight." And in any case, the plural of "libra" would be "librae", not "libras".
Any reference to "general English" in an attempt to explain the usage of "lbs" is just an excuse to avoid being labeled as illiterate.

lb is singular, lbs is plural (e.g 1 kilogram / 2 kilograms, 1 car / 2 cars, 1 answer / 2 answers etc.) I'm sure you've learned that.

lbs = pounds (plural)
lb = pound (singular)
That's the only difference.

lb is a pound - singular, while lbs is pounds - plural
You are correct when you say that 2.2 lbs or pounds = 1 Kg
Thus 1 lb (pound) = 1/2.2 Kg

lb is the singular form of lb and lbs is the plural form of lb.
If no. of pound is <= 1 then we use lb, say 0.5 lb or 1 lb; if > than 1 then we use lbs, say 2 lbs or 1.1 lbs.
