1.) Distribute, b/c thats what you are supposed to do in the distributive property.

2.) 10, b/c x*12/2=60......10*12=120......120/2= 60

3.) x - (2x - 8) = 3x - 2(x + 5)

-x-8=3x-2x-10

-x-8=x-10

8=2x-10

18=2x

x=9 <----

4.) C?

5.) x - 6= -3

x= 3<----

6.) D.

7.) set up a proportion.... You can probably figure out what to do.

8.) 2(x + 6) - 4 = 2(x - 7) + 22

2x+12-4=2x-14+22

2x+8=2x+8

All real number<----

9.) | 2x - 5 | + 5 = 12

I 2x-5 I = 7

I2x I=12

x=6 and -6 <---

10.) set up a proportion... Same as number 7.

Hope my answers were correct and that I helped!

Qi : Distribute < http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/71616.html >

Q2 : Area of triangle --- 1/2 * b * h ---> 60 = 1/2 * 12 * h, so h (hight) = 10 ft.

Q3 : x - (2x - 8) = 3x - 2(x + 5)

x - 2x + 8 = 3x - 2x - 10

x - 2x - 3x + 2x = -10 - 8

-2x = - 18

use inverse operation

-2x / -2 = -18 / -2

x = 9

Q4 : C.) add a negative 2W to both sides of the equation. <----- inverse operation

Q5 ; x - 6= -3

use inverse operation

x -6 +6 = -3 +6

x = 3

Q6 : D.) multiply both sides of the equation by 3/4 <----- inverse operation

Q7 : 200 lbs force : 5 lbs mass = x lbs force : 2.25 lbs mass

200 * 2.25 = 5 * X

x = 90

Q8 : 2(x + 6) - 4 = 2(x - 7) + 22

2x + 12 -4 = 2x -14 +22

2x - 2x = -14 +22 -12 +4

0x = 0 --------> No Solution

Q9 : | 2x - 5 | + 5 = 12

case 1 :

2x -5 +5 = 12

2x = 12 , then x = 6

case 2 ;

- (2x - 5 ) + 5 = 12

-2x + 5 +5 = 12

-2x = 12 -10

x = 2 /( -2) , then x = -1

Final Answer : solutions are 6 and -1

Q10 : 210 lbs force : 6.75 lbs mass = x lb force : 2.25 lbs mass

6.75 * x = 210 * 2.25

x = 70 ----------> sister weigh 70 lbs

a million you're appropriate, y =14, varies at present (2,6) would be on a similar line (+4) as (10, 14) #2 gcf... you have 3 'factors' 51x^3y^2 -27xy 69y while i glance, i can ascertain that 3y is going into all of them, leaving... 17x^3y -9x 23 then I ask myself, can the rest bypass into all of them, the respond isn't any Writing all of them out seperately and clearly enables, all people had a y and everyon grew to become into divisible by skill of three GFC = 3y
