Question:
Junior year: take AP Statistics or Multivariable Calculus?

Here's my situation:
In 9th grade I took Pre-Calculus
In 10th grade I took AP BC Calculus

Right now, I'm considering whether to take AP Statistics or Multivariable Calculus in 11th grade.
I'm leaning on AP Statistics because: it's an AP course which means I can get AP credit. Multivariable Calculus doesn't have any sort of exam and it's not any sort of pre-requesite either.
In my senior year, I plan to take Higher Level Math (specific to the International Baccalaureate program).
What are your opinions about AP Statistics vs. Multivariable Calculus?

AP Stats is a pretty easy class. I just finished it and am almost positive I got a 5 on the AP test. If I were you, I would take both.

I would say It depends on what your post high school goals are. If you plan to be a math major or any related field (engineering, chemistry, physics, economics) I would definitely take Multivariable Calculus (the equivalent of Calculus 3 if you were in college). AP Stats gets you the AP credit, but it is different from the introductory stats classes you would take in college as a math or math related major, so you would just end up having to take introductory stats over in college (since many introductory stats classes for math or math related majors are calculus based, while AP stats is not calc based).

If you don't plan on going into a math field, then take the AP Stats class since you can get college credit for it.

Since you already know calculus, go with the statistics.

BC Calc is enough for Calc I and Calc II at most universities. You're going to have to retake Multivariable Calc again anyway because you can't test out of it with AP.

Plus statistics in college was the worst course for me cause its so boring (plus my teacher was Russian and I couldn't understand her.) Best to get it out of the way in High School.

I say choose AP Stat; not so much for the credit, but because you've already had a healthy taste of Calculus. Broaden your experiences by investigating another branch of mathematics.

It will work in your favor later, regardless of the discipline you ultimately choose.

You should speak with your advisor. Personally, I think AP Statistics would make you more distinguished to colleges.
