Question:
Is geometry harder than algebra 1?

I was ok at algebra 1. I ended up with a B- first semester and solid B second semester. I'm currently taking geometry and I got an A- on my first test. Is it harder or easier? I had to study hard for the geometry test opposed to the 30 minutes I studied for an Algebra test.

it's a harder level of thinking, but some people are better thinkers of algebra than geometry. im guessing your brain better understands geometry

It really depends to the person on what type of math they are better with. The teacher of the class also can affect the difficulty of the class. (Some teachers have their own grading systems when it comes to homework alone or tests and quizzes). But in my opinion, geometry was much easier and I took both algebra 1 and geometry advanced courses. The teachers of both classes were relatively the same and so were the grading systems they used: 70% Tests/Quizzes, 20% Homework, 10% Participation

Algebra 1:

Semester 1: B

Semester 2: A-

Geometry:

Semester 1: A+

Semester 2: A

The funny part is that for Algebra 1, I actually had to study hard to at least get a B. For geometry, I didn't put much effort or did not put any effort and easily got A's. Every grade in my first semester was all A's and over 95%. XD

Is Geometry Easier Than Algebra

I had a hard time with geometry mostly because of the large amount of memorization that needed to be done when I first took it. Now I get some geometry problems in the higher math classes and they aren't a problem. I find Algebra and calculus to be much easier.

Relies on what you care to do. Lol sorry however its real. Some persons who love algebra despise geometry and vice versa. Personally algebra is less difficult due to the fact its clearly original sense, and you don't have got to memorize all these obnoxious theorems.

it depends on the person really, algebra has some geometry in it like using trianges for example. Some people look at a triangle and freak out because they don't know what to do or how to apply it and others are just like easy. TA DA and down with it. if you can get around all of the shape things then it basically becomes algebra almost.h

It really matters. Proofs in geometry get hard, and there's less chance of getting a calculation error when you are doing geometry, but geometry has a lot of formulas to learn. It also depends if you are a visual thinker or not.

I'll have to say geometry is far by the worse class I ever had in mathematics during high school... Algebra 1,2 & 3 is way more simpler to me.. That's just me
