1--2=1+2=3

When you subtract a negative it is like adding a positive.

So basically a double negative is a positive.

Now remember when someone says I didn't do nothing, that means that they did everything.

1- -2 = 1+2 =3 Subtracting a negative is the same thing as adding a positive.

1 subtract negative 2

= 1 - (-2)

= 1 + (-1*-2)

= 1 + (+2)

= 1 + 2

= 3

Positive 1 minus negative 2 would be positive 3.

If you are supposed to subtract a negative, you add the opposite, which means adding the positive version of the number.

1-(-2) = 3 Because when you subtract a negative number, it is like it is adding. You can also make it 1+2=3 because when their are two minus signs, whether they are signaling it as subtracting or stating number to be negative, you can change the subtracting sign into a plus sign and the negative number into a positive number.

Rules to add and subtract by:

1. When adding a positive, add. ex: 2 + (+2) = 4

2. When adding a negative, subtract. ex: 2 + (-2) = 0

3. When subtracting a positive, subtract. ex: 2 - (+2) = 0

4. When subtracting a negative, add. 2 - (-2) = 4

You should be able to take it from there, good luck

1-(-2) = 1+2

two negatives become a positive. You distribute the negative simbol into the negative 2 creating a positive

-(-2) = +2 so your answer is 3

the maths e book is real. one thanks to imagine about that's to visualise a line in the front of you with -3 on the some distance left, and +3 on the some distance top, and the different numbers so as from left to top (-3, -2, -a million, 0, a million, 2, 3) including effective numbers ability shifting in route of the right, subtracting effective numbers ability shifting in route of the left. Now imagine of the minus signal as a demonstration to bypass interior the option route. So including adverse numbers ability shifting in route of the LEFT, and subtracting adverse numbers ability shifting in route of the right. in case you commence at a million and upload +2, you bypass to the right 2 and get 3. in case you commence at a million and subtract 2, you bypass to the left 2 and get -a million. in case you upload -2 you commence bypass to the right -2. The minus signal says opposite +2, so rather of shifting top 2, you bypass left 2. in case you subtract -2 you commence to bypass to the left -2, even if the minus tells you to bypass interior the option route, so that you bypass top 2 and finally end up with +3. Does that help? once you settle for that, you will discover that the minus indications (one for subtract or bypass left and one for -2 or bypass opposite +2) cancel one yet another out. So a million - -2 = a million + 2 = 3.

look at liek this 1- - 2

1 - (-2) = 1 + 2 = 3

Reference:

n + (-n) = n - n = 0

n - (-n) = n + n = 2n

-n + n = 0

-n - n = -n + (-n) = -2n

Hope this helps.
