1. 2 dimensional space (like area of a rectangle, is L * W)

2. graph comparing values (hard to explain, just google it)

3. bottom side of something

4. graph showing the median and extreme values of a set

5. Distance around a cirlce (like if you measured around a tire)

6. Fancy word for a constant, like (5x, 5 is the coeff)

7. equal in size and shape

8. the same angle on two similar triangles

9. the same side on two similar triangles

10. when you cross multiply fractions, like if 5/6 = x/36, 5*36 = 6x

theres really a lot here, youve got to do some yourself

formulas:

1. pi*r^2

2. L * W

3. 1/2b*h

4. 1/2(b1 + b2) * h

5. B * H

6. 2*pi*r

7. L * W * H

8. 1/2 * L * W * H

9. pi * r^2 * h

10. what?

11. 4 * LW (of 4 surfaces) + 2 * WH (for 2 ends)

2 * pi * R^2 + (h * 2*pi*r)

Different states have different testing and curriculum requirements. For example, New York state 8th graders must take the NYS Assessment in math. You can access sample exams on the NYSED website. (nysed.gov)

Get a mathematical dictionary or encyclopedia. There's a good one freely available online -- link is below.

Now if your jaw is dropping and you're thinking, "You don't actually expect me to look up every one of these, do you?" ... then you pretty much know how the rest of us feel scrolling through your list.

Good luck!
