To solve the first one we can use the quadratic formula. Just to make things clear I'll call the variable you're solving for x.

x = (-b +- sqrt(b²-4ac))/2a

Plug in the numbers. a=4, b=9, c= -1

x = -9 +- sqrt(9² - 4*4*(-1)) / 8

Your exact answers are x = (-9 +- sqrt(97) / 8)

You can put them in a calculator to get decimals.

For the second problem:

The axis of symmetry can be found by using x = -b/2a

In this case b is 13 and a is 2, so the axis of symmetry is the vertical line

x = -13/4

Making a table of values is easy, just pick a few x values and plug them into the formula.

x -------- y

0 -------- -24

1 -------- -9

2 -------- 10

3 -------- 33

hi, we've x(x - 2) + 3(2 - x) = x (x - 2) - 3(x - 2) =(x - 2)(x- 3) hint : Take ' - 3 ' common from (2 - x), so this is - 3 exterior and interior the bracket (x - 2). Now take (x - 2) common and positioned something. So this is (x - 2)(x - 3) Now Cheers !! wish i helped u :)

If they were easy points, you wouldn't have needed to ask....
