In Civil Engineering, arctan, for example, would be used to determine the angle of the slope of a roof or grade of a road:

arctan (rise/run) = angle

Knowing this angle allows for design of the supporting structure, whether it's for a building or a bridge.

arcsin(-a million)=x this suggests we are finding for an perspective which has a sin of -a million and the attitude is 3(pi)/2 arccos(-a million)=x x=pi arctan(-a million)=x x=3(pi)/4 and seven(pi)/4 i do no longer understand the final one! recently we (mathematicians) do no longer use arcsinx yet we use sin-a million(x) as a exchange. do no longer confuse the -a million. It does no longer advise a ability to the -a million

I'd imagine this would be pretty important in navigation.
