How do I measure out 3 feet without any measuring tape or any rulers or anything like that. I bought a heater and it says keep items 3 feet away. I heard you can measure feet by just using your feet and counting, but not completely sure.

First of all, if the heater is more than 3 feet but less than 4.5 feet neither your heater nor your insurance company is going to care. So a safe estimate is the distance between your elbow and your finger tips depending on your height. I'm male and 5'8". The distance between my elbow and wrist is almost exactly a foot. If you are taller use that measurement. If you are shorter, you could go with the distance to the end of your finger tips from your elbow.
Use 3 of whatever you decide is the best measurement.

An unused hb # 2 pencil is around 7 and 1/2 inches and their are 36 inches in 3 feet, so measure out the length of about five pencils.
