Please help me!! I'm taking a test but have no idea what the answer is! Helo.

1: solve the system of equations. You must show all steps.
-x-3y=-1
3x+3y=9

2. Factor completely:

2x(squared)+5x+3

2X=8 X=4 SUBSTITUTE BACK IN FIRST EQ.

-4-3Y=-1 3Y=-3 Y=-1



2. (2X+3((X+1)

-x-3y= -1

-x=3y-1

x= -3y+1



3x+3y=9

3(-3y+1)+3y=9

-9y+3+3y=9

-6y+3=9

-6y=6

y= -1



x= -3(-1)+1

x=3+1

x=4



Check over:

3x+3y=9

3(4)+3(-1)=9

12-3=9

(2x+3)(x+1) is the answer to the second one. The first one I don't remember how to do I'm sorry but I'm positive on the second!!

Now add this to the 2nd equation

-3x-9y=-3

3x+3y=9

0x-6y=6

-6y=6

so y=-1

Plug in y=-1 to -x-3y=-1

-x-3(-1)=-1

-x+3=-1

-x=-4

x=4

So x=4, y=-1
