Can anyone please help me with this problem?
John wants to build a fence 20 ft 5 in long using dog-eared western.. Red Cedar boards that are 5 1/2 in wide.If the boards are placed side-by-side w/no space between them, how many boards will he need 2 buy?

20'5" = 20*12 + 5 inches

= 245 inches



245 / 5.5 = 44.54...



John will need 45 boards.





TIP: Don't type the number 2 in place of the word "to." It makes you appear very stupid.

john will need 45 boards. Hope this helps, btw kiln dried western red cedar will give you much longer life out of your fence and you won't have any troubles with expansion and contraction.

20x12=240+5=245/5.5=44.54
